About Us

The Epilepsy Care Foundation (ECF) is a registered charity (CHY18588) formed in 2009.

Our Mission Statement is:
To provide timely access to good quality integrated epilepsy care in ireland.

In order to achieve this we have set ourselves the following aims:
1. To improve the level of clinical care available to individuals with complex epilepsy.
2. To provide lifestyle and behavioural training to individuals with epilepsy.
3. To improve the social skills of individuals with epilepsy and their integration into society.
4. To create an understanding of epilepsy amongst the general public.

Providing timely access to good quality care in Ireland requires the development of a National Centre for Epilepsy – this is a major objective of the Foundation. Ireland is the only country in the Western World without such a facility and it has been proven to be the most effective way to provide integrated care.
The National Centre will be a ‘not for profit’, state of the art facility, multi-disciplinary holistic facility to address the needs of patients who suffer from epilepsy and related disorders and their families.

The current Trustees of the Foundation are:
Mr. Peter Webster
Dr. Norman Delanty
Mr. Brian Geraghty
Dr. John Kirker
Ms. Sharon Sexton
